Idris Ayinde is an accomplished Chartered Accountant, CFA Charterholder and senior technical accounting professional with over 13 years of experience across technical accounting, financial reporting, finance transformation, quantitative finance, treasury and risk management.

He currently leads the Technical Accounting function responsible for group accounting policy and financial reporting at Checkout.com in London, a global payments and financial technology business. His role involves providing leadership on complex accounting matters, reporting judgements and accounting policy decisions within a fast-paced, international and highly technical environment.

Idris brings exceptional depth in IFRS, UK GAAP, financial instruments, hedge accounting, business combinations, group reporting, finance transformation and accounting advisory. His career includes experience across Deloitte, PwC, KPMG and EY, where he advised and supported financial services institutions, corporates and multinational groups on complex accounting, reporting and valuation matters.

At Deloitte, Idris was part of the founding team of the Actuarial and Quantitative Solutions sub-unit in Deloitte Nigeria, where he led financial instrument valuation projects covering swaps, forwards, options and other complex instruments. At PwC, he worked on IFRS 9 implementation and review projects for financial sector and corporate clients with operations across Africa, including the development of simplified expected credit loss models for receivables.

His experience across leading professional services firms has given him deep expertise in complex IFRS and UK GAAP advisory, including financial instruments, hedge accounting, business combinations, group reporting, leases, revenue recognition, M&A transactions, cryptocurrency accounting and US GAAP reporting obligations..
